Mahonia: Funky Flow
Funky Flow Mahonia is a slow-growing, cold-hardy, evergreen shrub known for it's dark green foliage and fragrant, neon-yellow flower spikes that bloom in winter. These shrubs grow to be about 3-4ft tall and wide. Plants should be spaced 2 to 3 feet apart in the garden. Mahonia spreads by a suckering root system, so be on the lookout for suckers if you don’t want your plant spreading.

Available 3 GalPart shade is ideal, though it tolerates full sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade is best to prevent leaf scorch in our hot Charleston climate.
Keep soil moist but well-drained. Once established, it is drought-tolerant, but requires regular deep watering during its first year. Avoid constantly soggy soil to prevent root rot
You can create a dense shrub by pruning back the tallest stems in early spring to encourage new growth at the base. We recommend Bond Bypass Pruners.
Your plant needs food too! We suggest Espoma Holly Tone.
Proper nutrition is important to the health of your plant and its longevity. To ensure your plant is getting the appropriate nutrition, use a fertilizer labelled for this plant type and apply according to the label.
