Aucuba 'Japanese Laurel': Gold Dust

Aucuba japonica 'Gold Dust', also known as Gold Dust Japanese Laurel, is a spotted leaved aucuba which grows slowly as a dense, rounded, evergreen shrub. Flowers appear in the early spring and the foliage is glossy, green blotched with yellow, and long lasting to provide year-round interest. Shurb size in ideal conditions are roughly 4-6 ft tall and wide. It is a hardy, deer-resistant shrub, ideal for brightening shady, woodland-style gardens.

This plant requires consistent moisture for the first growing season, generally needing weekly, deep watering to establish. Once established, it is relatively drought-tolerant, requiring water only during dry spells. Though it prefers consistent moisture, it will not tolerate waterlogged conditions.
