Prunus 'Flowering Peach' Tree: Ruby Ruffle

This tree requires full sun (6+ hours) for prolific blooms and foliage color. Place in a location with maximum sun exposure, such as a South-facing spot, to encourage dense growth and potential fruiting.

If kept on a patio or in a container, ensure it receives direct, unfiltered sunlight to prevent weak, leggy growth, reduced flowering, poor foliage color, and increased susceptibility to stress.

This tree requires consistent, evenly moist, and well-drained soil to thrive, particularly while establishing. Young trees need deep watering 1-2 times weekly, especially during droughts or in hot, dry weather. 

Once established, this tree is fairly drought tolerant. Provide deep irrigation every 7-10 days if rainfall is insufficient.

Container-grown Ruby Ruffles dry out faster, requiring more frequent checks. These should be checked regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

This tree is low maintenance, but benefits from pruning after flowering to maintain shape. We suggest Bond Drop Forged Pruner.

Mulching:
Apply mulch to conserve moisture, keeping it away from the trunk. Apply 2–4 inches of mulch around the base (but not touching the trunk) to retain moisture and keep roots cool.
