Davallia 'Rabbit's Foot' Fern

Davallia solida var. fejeensis, also known as Rabbit's Foot Fern, is a tropical, epiphytic, herbaceous perennial hailing from Fiji and the Caroline Islands. The fuzzy rhizomes or "rabbit's feet" creep over the potting medium and spill over the pot developing fronds at intervals. This is a normal growth pattern and should be considered when potting and repotting. This fern is intolerant to cold weather and is grown as an indoor plant. It makes for a wonderful potted specimen or hanging basket.

This plant likes bright indirect light. Direct light will scorch its fronds. 

Water this plant deeply when the first inch of layer is dry, roughly once a week. Reduce watering in the winter. This plant is tolerant of low humidity, but is grown best in high humidity. Misting, placing the plant in a pebble tray, or highly humid area will provide ample humidity.
