  • The Butia odorata, also known as the Pindo Palm, is a Lowcountry staple, hardy and found all throughout South Carolina. Known also as the "Jelly Palm", this tree will produce large quantities of fruit which is used to make jellies and jams. It will tolerate drought and some salt spray. This is a slow growing palm, reaching 10-20ft in height.
