Olea 'Olive' Tree
Olea europaea, also know as the Olive Tree, is a slow-growing, broadleaf evergreen tree or shrub that has a gnarled trunk and silvery-colored leaves. Olive is native to the Mediterranean, Africa, and China. The olive may be grown as an ornamental, fruit tree, container plant, or used in bonsai. It grows 20 to 30 feet tall and 15 to 25 feet wide. If you plan to harvest the fruit, you may need to plant another variety to help with cross pollination. Small white fragrent flowers will bloom in the summer, growing edible green fruit that turns to black. This plant performs best in hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Previously known as Olea Sativa.
