Available in 5”, 8” HBVanilla Bean Orchids need bright, indirect light, such as that found under a 50-70% shade cloth or filtered light from a south-facing window. For indoor growing, provide 6-8 hours of filtered sunlight daily, or use a grow light for 12-14 hours.
They will not flower in shade but are sensitive to direct, hot sun, which can scorch their leaves—if growing outdoors, bright dappled sun will be best.
This orchid require consistently moist, but never soggy, soil during the growing season. Mist the plant's aerial roots daily, and ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot. Water when the top layer of the potting mix or medium feels dry to the touch.
We suggest Espoma Orchid Mix or Rosy Soil Orchid Mix.
Add CocoChip: Chunky Coconut Husk if you are creating your own soil mix, or if you'd like to add extra moisture and aeration to your soil.
Proper nutrition is important to the health of your plant and its longevity. To ensure your plant is getting the appropriate nutrition, use a fertilizer labelled for this tree type and apply according to the label.
