Sansevieria 'Fernwood'

Sansevieria Fernwood is part of the asparagus family—a tropical herbaceous houseplant, known for its long and thin slopping stems and has an interesting variegation.

 

Update: Sansevieria varieties have recently been labeled as Dracaena. Molecular genetic research has revealed that the species formerly in Sansevieria are merely a specialized, succulent lineage within the genus Dracaena.

This plant likes bright, indirect light, but can tolerate low light conditions.

This plant has low water requirements and prefers the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water thoroughly until water drains from the pot, then allow the soil to dry out completely before watering again to prevent root rot. Check soil moisture—by feel or with a moisture meter deep into the soil, or by the pot's weight, and only water when the soil feels completely dry. 

 

Spring/ Summer/ Fall:
Every 2-6 weeks in the summer and even less in the winter.

 

Winter:
Once a month or even less.

Keep your leaves clean for optimal photosynthesis with Houseplant Cleaning Wipes or Leaf Cleaning Gloves.

 

We suggest Jungle Club House Plant Fertilizer, Arber Plant Food, or Grow Organic Plant Food Concentrate.

 

Use a balanced liquid fertilizer with an NPK ratio like 10-10-10 during the spring and summer growing season, diluting it to half strength to prevent root burn, especially when starting out. Apply fertilizer only once in spring and again in mid-summer, and do not fertilize in the winter, as snake plants are slow-growing and have low nutrient needs.
