Codiaeum 'Croton': Magnificent
Codiaeum variegatum, also known as a Croton, is a woody, flowering, broadleaf evergreen shrub, reaching heights of 8ft in the narrow climate range of their native habitat—Malaysia, the Pacific islands, and northern Australia. Grown as an annual or indoor houseplant, Crotons feature bright and brilliant foliage with different leaf shapes as well.
Available in 6"
Crotons prefer full sun or partial shade if grown outdoors. As a houseplant, this plant needs bright indirect light. They need bright light for the best leaf color, with some direct sun, and may lose lower leaves in too much shade.
Water them liberally from spring to autumn, sparingly in winter.
To meet the plant's humidity requirements, consider placing the plant on a bed of wet pebbles indoors. Crotons do not require winter dormancy but appreciate a resting period with reduced watering from fall to late winter.
