Camellia 'Hybrid': Egao Corkscrew

Camellia x vernalis also ‘known as an Egao Corkscrew Camellia’ is a hybrid evergreen shrub featuring a pink double bloom flower and contorted zig zag growth habit where each leaf node causes the plants branch to change direction. Blooming occurs late autumn through winter. In optimal growing conditions, it can reach 6-8ft tall. A sheltered location is needed to protect the plants from cold, dry winds that can damage the flower buds and blooms.

Camellias thrive in partial shade. It is recommended to avoid hot afternoon sun. 

This plant likes consistently moist soil. During the plants establishment, water weekly. Once the plant is established it becomes drought tolerant, needing a deep soak during extended dry spells.
