Tibouchina 'Glory Bush'
Tibouchina urvilleana, also known as Glory Bush or Princess Flower, is an evergreen tropical shrub native to Brazil. It is recognized by it's showy purple flowers and long bloom season. The evergreen leaves are dark green with lighter undersides and are 4-6" long. Because it is a tropical, and our Charleston climate is more sub-tropical, it will most likely die back to the ground during winter and reemerge in the spring. This shrub can be trained into tree form and typically reaches 6-8 ft. In warm winter areas, it can reach heights of 10-20 ft. Use on the patio as an accent plant! It has moderate salt tolerance.

New plantings prefers evenly moist soil, but never soggy. It will need consistent watering until it is established. Once it's roots have established, it becomes slightly drought tolerant. However for the biggest and most profuse blooms, it will need consistent watering.
