Citrus 'Key Limequat'
Citrus x floridana, also known as the Key Limequat, is a cold-hardy, prolific hybrid of Key Lime and Kumquat—producing small, edible-skinned, sweet-tart fruit. They are more cold-tolerant than true limes, and can withstand temperatures below freezing. They reach 4-8 ft tall and it blooms and fruits up to 7 months a year.

Key Limequats typically need deep watering once or twice a week (about 1 inch per week) to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Soil should dry out to a depth of 2–3 inches between waterings. Newly planted trees need more frequent, shallow watering until established. It is very drought tolerant once established. Do not overwater.
Pruning is only required to shape it, remove dead wood, limit plant size, or thin fruit. We recommend Bond Drop Forged Pruner.
Key limequats are heavy feeders requiring a balanced, slow-release citrus-specific fertilizer (high in nitrogen, with iron, zinc, and magnesium) applied 3–4 times a year from early spring to late summer. Focus feeding on growing seasons, avoiding late fall/winter. We recommend Espoma Citrus Tone.
