Podocarpus 'Pringle's Dwarf'

Podocarpus macrophyllus 'Pringles', also known as Dwarf Podocarpus, is a compact, evergreen conifer shrub that features slender linear leaves arranged in an alternating spiral. It originates from southern China, Taiwan, and Japan. Dwarf Podocarpus stays naturally small and compact, reaching 3-5ft tall and wide. This plant likes medium relative humidity and has a slow growth rate. It is salt and drought tolerant and displays some tolerance to heat. This is a great plant grown as a background plant or small hedge.

This plant requires full sun (6+ hours) to maintain a dense and bushy form. It can tolerate part shade and even full shade—however too much shade may slow the growth and make it less dense. 

This plant is drought tolerant once established. When newly planted, Podocarpus needs frequent waterings, however it is intolerant of wet soils. Once the roots have established this plant needs infrequent deep waterings.
