Buy plants that will thrive in your space

While this may seem obvious, many people have a hard time being honest with themselves about their life style and lighting. You might want the trendy ficus, but do you really have a bright enough window? You might be admiring the calathea's funky foliage, but are you actually going to water it enough to be happy? If not, your ficus will drop it's leaves and your calathea will turn brown and crispy! In 2026, get real and focus on plants that are going to bring you joy and fit into your lifestyle.

Dust your plant's leaves

Another way to help your houseplants thrive is by dusting their leaves. Plants rely on sunlight to photosynthesize where they convert light into energy, promoting healthy growth. Dust on your plant's leaves is acting as a physical barrier to growth! Help your plant out by simply dusting its leaves. Plus, cleaning your leaves with a liquid spray like We The Wild's 'Protect Spray with Neem' also helps prevent pests and gives the leaves a beautiful, shiny finish.

Check the soil before watering your plants

"How often do you I water this plant?" We hear this about 37 times a day at Meeting Green and unfortunately, it can be pretty hard to answer no matter how much plant knowledge we have! The truth is, how often you water your plant depends on how much light it gets in your space, how much water you're giving it each time, and many other factors. Is it sitting directly under a vent? Then it's probably drying out faster and needs water more often! In 2026 we're moving away from blanket watering advice like, "water every seven days!" and giving more individualized care to each plant in our collection! The best way to know if your plants needs water is to use a moisture meter or put your finger in the soil. Some plants like to dry out completely between waterings, while some will be happiest staying moist. Find out what your plants likes and act accordingly!
