Introducing Plant Potential; a series where the Meeting Green team is identifying underrated plants that are secretly fun, funky, and may be perfect for your space!

Acca sellowiana or pineapple guava is one of our favorite under utilized shrubs! This evergreen perennial has thick, leathery leaves that are an attractive muted silvery green tone. It explodes with unique blooms April - May and adds a pop of pink to a space. Plus, the flowers are edible!

Plant pineapple guava in full sun for optimal flower and fruit growth and ensure the soil has good drainage. Pineapple guava can be used to create a privacy hedge, shaped into a small tree, or added to containers as a dramatic statement. They are a wonderful alternative to commonly used green shrubs and add a coastal flair to your garden!
