Norfolk Island pines are the perfect addition to your holiday decor! These evergreen trees are a festive live alternative to a traditional Christmas tree and make a statement in your space. Whether you decorate them for the holidays or keep them thriving all year as a houseplant, Norfolk Island pines are a great way to incorporate funky foliage in your home.
Norfolk Island pines are actually not a pine tree at all, but a type of conifer! The trunks are lined with symmetrical branches, draped in soft and graceful needle like leaves. These trees are native to Norfolk Island, east of Australia, and have been introduced in many subtropical climates. You can even find them growing outdoors year around in southern Florida and California! In their natural outdoor habitat these impressive trees can grow to 200 feet tall. However, most of us treat them as a holiday item and houseplant, only reaching 10-12 feet tall.
When kept inside, Norfolk Island pines need bright light and well draining potting soil. They should be watered regularly during spring - fall and less often in the winter. They are easy going, rewarding houseplants! If you're hoping for faster growth, move them outdoors to an area with indirect light during the warmer months of the year. Be sure to protect them when temperatures drop in the 40's consistently!
We have 4 - 14 inch Norfolk Island pines in stock now! Shop online and in store this holiday season!
