In:

  • Plant tools that double as decor

  • Incorporating your funky foliage with your art

  • Bright and colorful pots that match your personality, not trends

Out:

  • The "gap of death"

  • Placing your fiddle leaf fig under a vent

  • Getting a plant for your bathroom with no window

🙅‍♀️ The gap of death is OUT for 2025! The gap of death happens when soil is severely under watered and begins to shrink, creating a gap between the soil and the pot! As you water your plant, the hydrophobic soil does not soak up the water and instead the water runs right out of the pot! To fix this, you need to rehydrate your soil so it can soak up water again. Place your plant in a bowl, bathtub, sink, or planter that does not have drainage and let it soak for 30 minutes or until the soil is no longer hard and compact. Remember, well watered plants are happy plants!

🙅‍♀️ Fiddle leaf figs (aka finicky fiddles) are a customer favorite! But, they may not be for everyone. These plants are very picky about their environment and one of their main gripes with living in your space...the dreaded vent! Fiddle leaf figs hate having hot or cold air blowing on them from your vents! If you're having issues with your finicky fiddle, check to ensure they are not sitting near a vent, fire place, or even a drafty area.

🙅‍♀️ In 2025 we're preaching "low light" never means no light! All of your low light houseplants like the snake plant or ZZ plant are capable of surviving with little sun, but no plant can tolerate zero sunlight! So as you're shopping for plants for your bathroom, make sure it has a window!
