GARDEN CENTER SALES ASSOCIATE

 

We are looking for a plant enthusiast to join our team as a Garden Center Sales Associate. If you have a passion for gardening and enjoy working in a fast-paced customer facing environment, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with their gardening needs while providing guidance and recommendations to customers on plant selection, care, and maintenance

  • Maintain the appearance of the garden center by organizing and arranging plants and merchandise

  • Water, prune, and care for plants to ensure their health and vitality

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system, handling cash, credit card, and other payment methods.

  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliverires and stocking merchandise

  • Collaborate with team members to create attractive displays and promotional setups

  • Answer customer inquiries in person, over the phone, or via email

  • Assist with e-commerce operations, including online order fulfillment

Skills and Requirements:​

  • A basic knowledge of plants is preferred, with a willingness to learn

  • Ability and willingness to carry heavy items, such as bags of soil or potted plants

  • Ability to work outdoors on your feet in various weather conditions

  • Excellent customer service skills to provide a positive shopping experience

  • Strong sales skills to connect with customers and sell products through thoughtful recommendations

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills 

  • Proficiency in using a point-of-sale (POS) system for processing sales transactions and knowledge of e-commerce platforms

Garden Center Maintenance & Delivery Associate

 

The Garden Center Maintenance and Delivery Associate will be responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks and handle the transportation of plant material material. 

​

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to shop operations

  • Assist with special projects and renovations as directed by management

  • Safely operate company vehicles, including vans or trucks, to deliver plants to customers' locations

  • Load and unload plants and supplies onto and from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit

  • Plan delivery routes efficiently to minimize travel time and maximize productivity

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and repairing

​

Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience in maintenance or facilities management, in a retail or commercial setting preferred

  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading deliveries

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment, and tools

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work outdoors on your feet in various weather conditions

  • Weekend availability is required
