Miscanthus 'Silvergrass': Zebrinus

Miscanthus sinensis ‘Zebrinus’, also known as Silver Grass or Zebra Grass, is a deciduous shrub-like grass that grows 5-8ft tall and 3-4ft wide. This cultivar has distinctive yellow strips across the foliage, giving it a "zebra" like coloring with slender, drooping leaves toward the ground. Slender leaves originate in a clump, spreading out and up like a fountain. Foliage is flexible and blows easily in the wind. It thrives in warm southern climates up to Zone 9, tolerating high summer heat and humidity.

This plant prefers full sun (6+ hours) for best coloring and strong stems. It can tolerate partial shade. 

This plant needs moderate, consistent watering when young. Once established, it is drought tolerant and needs supplemental watering during extended periods of drought.
