To celebrate Earth Day this week, start a pollinator garden! Some scientist describe this time in history as an insect apocalypse due to rapid habitat loss and extensive pesticide use. The insect pollinator population is under threat and small changes at home are important for their recovery! Whether you start small or large, starting a pollinator garden aids in insect conservation and makes your garden beautiful! Here are three quick pollinator garden tips to help you get started!

Think Diversity

Utilize multiple plant species to create a diverse habitat and attract various pollinators. A larger diversity of insects also helps reduce pesticide use because the beneficial insects lining in your garden will act as pest control!

Plant Groups

When foraging, visibility and a constant food source are important! Plant species in large patches to improve efficiency for pollinators and create a lush landscape.

Differ Bloom Times

Ensure there are blooms in your garden through the entire growing season! Plant species with different bloom times for visual appeal and a lasting food source.
